Nero d’Avola was the first grape vinified at Tenute Camilleri by Papa Peppe after his oenological studies over 30 years ago. Keeping with tradition, Papa continues the wine-making process in cement tanks, like grandfather Tito did and his father before him.
Nero d’Avola is a local grape variety and it’s very important in the sicilian winemaking tradition.
It is grown in deep, rich, volcanic soil which contributes to the wine’s body and aroma. Our vines are grown on espalier and trained in the guyot method.
